About Us

The San Mateo County Community Colleges Foundation is the fundraising arm of the San Mateo County Community College District. It secures philanthropic support to empower students, drive academic excellence, accelerate workforce training, and inspire community engagement. In doing so, it offers donors the opportunity to invest in dreams and transform the lives of students and their families—now and for generations to come.

 

Our Mission

We provide the philanthropic support that helps San Mateo County Community College District students take full advantage of the programs and services at the three colleges of the District: Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College.

The San Mateo County Community Colleges Foundation is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, tax ID number 94-6133905. Our IRS 990 information is available here.

Board of Directors

The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of community leaders in the San Mateo County region dedicated to raising funds and implementing programs.

Staff

Our experienced and diverse staff has deep knowledge of charitable giving, grant and scholarship development, and the major issues affecting our students and the greater San Mateo County region.

Colleges

The colleges serve over 40,000 students in the San Mateo County region and offer a wide array of programs to help students enter careers they’ve always dreamed of.

History

The Foundation was formed by the Board of Trustees of the San Mateo County Community College District on March 25, 1966, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
