What is the Foundation’s mission?
We provide the philanthropic support that helps San Mateo County Community College District students take full advantage of the programs and services at the three colleges of the San Mateo County Community College District: Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College.
How will my gift be used?
Your gift will be used however you choose to direct the gift. If you do not direct the gift to a specific fund or program, the Foundation will direct the funds to where they are most needed.
Can I designate my gift for a specific purpose?
Yes, you can direct your gift to a specific purpose or to support a college, school, or program that is meaningful to you. You can select from a list of options when you make your donation. If your option is not listed, click “Other” in the drop down menu and type in the name of the program you wish to support. How can I make a gift that lasts in perpetuity?
Remembering the San Mateo County Community Colleges Foundation in your estate plans will have a lasting impact on the District’s students and the programs that are important to you. Your estate gift can establish a permanent endowment or make funds available for current use at the time of your passing. Planned gifts include charitable bequests in wills or trusts, retirement and life insurance beneficiary designations, IRA qualified charitable distributions, charitable gift annuities, trusts, and more. How can I make a gift of Stock/Mutual Funds?
Stock transfers may be initiated by a donor or a donor's broker. Gifts of marketable stocks or mutual fund shares that have increased in value can have an immediate impact and also create an immediate income tax deduction for you based on the stock's current value. Can I take advantage of my employer’s matching gift program?
Yes! Many employers offer matching gift programs. Any verified matching gift totals will be included in our end-of-year gift totals. To see if your employer has a matching gift program, contact your employer’s human resources office. Include your employer’s name and the details of your donation and share with us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’m a college or district employee, can I give through payroll deduction?

Is the San Mateo County Community Colleges Foundation a nonprofit organization? Are donations to the Foundation tax-deductible?
Yes, the Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donations are deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?
Receipts are sent to donors as gifts are processed. Online gifts receive an immediate receipt by email. If you do not receive a receipt, or need a duplicate receipt, contact the Foundation at 650.574.6229 or email@example.com.
